This is inspired by this YouTube Video. Other good videos are:
- YouTube: Export 360 Videos from DaVinci Resolve to YouTube: A Step-by-Step Guide
- YouTube: Insta360 Reframing + Transitions Tutorial
Requirements:
- 360 Camera (like Insta360 One X2)
- Insta360 Studio (Desktop App)
- DaVinci Resolve
- KartaVR Plugin (via Reactor Package Manager)
Just follow these steps:
- Record a 360 video using a 360 camera (like Insta360 One X2)
- Transfer video to Insta360 Studio (Desktop App)
- Export video as a '360 Video' (Resolution: 5760 x 2880 / Encoding Format: 'H.265' or 'ProRes')
- Create new DaVinci Resolve project
- Import video into your DaVinci Resolve project
- Create new timeline with the following properties (uncheck 'Use Project Settings'):
- Format / Timeline resolution: to your desired output format
- Format / Pixel aspect ratio: 'Square'
- Format / Mismatched Resolution: 'Stretch frame to all corners'
- Drag video to your timeline
- Drag 'Toolbox' -> 'Effects' -> 'KartaVR/Viewer/kvrReframe360Ultra' onto clip on timeline
- Select clip and open the 'Inspector' and the navigate to 'Effects' / 'Fusion' (you should now see the 'KartaVR' Panel) -> 'Controls' -> set 'Rectlinear Projection' to '0.65'
- On Top of 'KartaVR' Panel select 'Fusion' Icon
- In the 'Spline' Panel check desired controls (or all by checking the top item)
For more Information see this KartaVR | Reframe360 Ultra Fuse for Resolve and Fusion article.
Installing KartaVR
- First one requires (if not already installed) Reactor Package Manager by downloading the Reactor-Installer.lua script.
- DaVinci -> Workspace -> Scripts -> Reactor -> Open Reactor...
- Search for 'KartaVR' and select it -> Install
